Fragen und AntwortenQuestions and answers

Nichts geht an Stanja.

Am I affected by the php2shell PHP flaw?

PHP versions below 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 and 8.2.35 are affected, as are all versions before 8.2. The PHP check shows whether your website uses PHP, which version is visible and which host it sits on.

Why is the PHP version unknown?

Most hosts hide the PHP version. On WordPress it helps to sign in as admin first, then the check reads the version from Site Health. Otherwise ask your agency or host with “Copy message” and type their answer under “Already know the version?” above.

Does the check find out who made the website?

Often, yes. The check reads the footer and the legal notice of your site and looks for details such as web design, development or hosting. If nothing is listed there, the field stays empty.

How do I find out which host my website is on?

The check looks up the IP address and its owner and recognises well-known hosts. If a service like Cloudflare sits in front, the real host is hidden. The domain registrar does not matter for this flaw, the host has to patch.

Does the PHP check work on a phone?

Yes, with a detour: “Copy code”, create any bookmark and replace its address with the code. Then on your website type the bookmark's name into the address bar and tap it.

Is my data transmitted?

Nothing goes to Stanja. The check only reads your own site. To find the host, it looks up domain and IP address with Cloudflare's DNS service and the public RDAP directory. The tool is free and needs no sign-up.
